WINTER LEAGUE

Ice hockey in Adelaide is actively organised during the winter months, with structured leagues under the governance of Ice Hockey South Australia (IHSA).

DIVISIONS

The winter league is a mixed league categorised into several divisions to accommodate varying skill levels:

  • Premier League: Top senior checking league in South Australia

  • Senior A: Premier senior non-checking league, offering competitive yet non-contact games.

  • Senior B: Second tier of senior non-checking leagues, catering to intermediate players.

  • Senior C: Third tier, designed for developing players and those seeking a more recreational experience.


Players get picked up from ASL to Senior C during the draft season.

CLUBS

The Winter League is made of 5 established clubs, all having a team in each division.

  • Adelaide Tigers

SEASON SCHEDULE

The Winter League typically runs from March to September offering players with a typical winter season, in line with the AIHL's season.
